About Us
The Story Behind Ubuntu Support Services
Born from an ancient philosophy and driven by a modern mission — to transform disability support through the power of genuine human connection.

Our Philosophy
What Does Ubuntu Mean?
"Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu"
— A Zulu proverb meaning "A person is a person through other people"
Ubuntu is an ancient African philosophy rooted in the Nguni Bantu languages of Southern Africa. It speaks to a universal truth about human existence: that we are not isolated individuals, but deeply interconnected beings whose humanity is inextricably linked to one another.
The concept extends far beyond a simple translation. Ubuntu encompasses compassion, reciprocity, dignity, and the understanding that one's wellbeing is fundamentally tied to the wellbeing of the community. As Archbishop Desmond Tutu eloquently expressed: "My humanity is caught up, is inextricably bound up, in yours."
At Ubuntu Support Services, this philosophy is not merely our namesake — it is the lens through which we view every aspect of our work. We believe that when we support one person, we strengthen the entire community. When we empower an individual to achieve their goals, we all benefit from their success.
Our Mission
To deliver exceptional, person-centred NDIS support services that empower individuals with disability to live fulfilling, independent lives within a connected and caring community.
Our Vision
A world where every person, regardless of ability, is valued, included, and supported to reach their full potential — because when one of us thrives, we all thrive.
Our Approach
We take a strengths-based, culturally responsive approach to support. We listen first, plan collaboratively, and deliver services that respect your choices, your culture, and your goals.

After trying several NDIS providers, we finally found Ubuntu. The difference is night and day. They actually listen, they're flexible, and they understand mental health. My daughter looks forward to her sessions every week. Thank you for everything.

Fantastic NDIS provider. The SLES program helped my son transition from school with real skills and confidence. The staff are professional yet warm, and communication with families is excellent. Five stars from our whole family.

I've been attending the Ubuntu Hub for three months now and it's changed my life. The jewellery making and painting sessions are so therapeutic. The support workers make everyone feel welcome regardless of ability. Best decision I ever made.
